Congressman Ben Cline, a representative for Virginia's 6th district since 2019, has recently shared his views on various legislative initiatives through a series of tweets. Cline, who replaced Bob Goodlatte, stated his positions on election security, border laws, and funding for higher education.

On March 31, 2025, Congressman Cline tweeted, "Only U.S. citizens should vote in U.S. elections. It’s that simple.". He emphasized the SAVE Act, which codifies a former executive action by President Trump, aimed at preventing noncitizens from participating in U.S. elections to preserve the electoral voice of American citizens.

Later in the day, Cline espoused the effectiveness of President Trump's border policies. On March 31, 2025, he tweeted, "President Trump proved we didn’t need new laws to secure the border—we just needed a new leader willing to enforce the ones we have." Cline highlighted the perceived outcomes of such an approach, emphasizing a secure border, safer communities, and a strengthened nation.

In another tweet on the same day, Cline addressed funding for higher education, specifically regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs. He stated, "Taxpayers shouldn’t be footing the bill for DEI programs at elite universities sitting on billion-dollar endowments." Cline introduced the No Subsidies for Wealthy Universities Act, advocating for federal funds to be allocated to substantive research rather than what he describes as "woke ideology."
