2023-24 School Year Enrollment: 378 1st-grade students welcomed in Shenandoah County schools

There were 378 1st-grade students enrolled in Shenandoah County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 7.8% fewer than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

The school that enrolled the largest number of 1st-grade students in the county was W. W. Robinson Elementary School.

Within Shenandoah County schools, the largest number of students were found in 10th-grade, while pre-kindergarten had the least students.

Statewide, Shenandoah County ranked 42nd in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 44th the year before.

As of November 2023, according to Public Schools Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools nationwide.
