City of Winchester issued the following announcement on Aug. 12
The Planning Commission will hold an open house on the Comprehensive Plan update on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 5:30-6:30 pm in the Council Chambers and lobby area of Rouss City Hall. The casual format will allow attendees to talk with staff and view exhibits of potential scenarios and character drawings for areas identified for redevelopment in the plan.
Following the open house, the Planning Commission will convene a special meeting at 6:30 pm to hold a public hearing on the Comp Plan update. The meeting will also be streamed live on the City’s agenda portal. Public comments will be accepted during the public hearing at the special meeting and in writing (deadline for written comments to be included in the Planning Commission agenda packet: August 27, 2021).
Comp Plan Approval Process Following Open House:
- Planning Commission Public Hearing and vote (may occur at the special meeting or the September regular Planning Commission meeting).
- When approved by the Planning Commission, the plan will be forwarded to the Planning & Economic Development Committee for review prior to City Council scheduling a public hearing and then voting on adoption of the Plan update.
- Council will hold a public hearing at a regular meeting prior to the final vote.
