City of Winchester issued the following announcement on June 03.
Following a nation-wide search resulting in 54 applicants, Winchester City Manager Dan Hoffman has appointed Christopher Konyar, of Winchester, as the City’s new Parks and Recreation Director. Christopher, who has over 20 years of experience in the field, served the past 14 years as the Superintendent of Recreation and the prior seven years as Program Supervisor both with Frederick County Parks and Recreation. He has also been a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional since 2006 and is currently a Recognized Clinician with the American Sports Education Program.
“Christopher stood out among other applicants because of his extensive experience with and deep appreciation for the Winchester area, and I am confident he will readily apply this knowledge and experience in his new position here in the city,” Mr. Hoffman said. “I look forward to working with him and seeing the positive impact he will have on the Department as well as the surrounding community.”
Christopher will begin his service with the City of Winchester on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.
