Shenandoah University Athletics issued the following announcement on June 02.
Shenandoah University Head Field Hockey Coach Ashley Smeltzer-Kraft announced her program's 2021 schedule Wednesday morning.
Smeltzer-Kraft, who enters her ninth season as the Hornets head coach just five wins away from career win No. 100, has seven home games on her 16-contest slate this fall.
The Hornets open the season on Wednesday, Sep. 1 with a 7 p.m. non-league home game versus Gettysburg. The matchup is the fourth in program history versus the Bullets with SU winning in both 2018, 2-1, and 2019, 4-1.
Shenandoah also hosts Dickinson and Washington College in non-league play before Randolph-Macon visits on Oct. 2 for the ODAC home opener.
The Macon contest, scheduled for 3 p.m., is part of Homecoming Weekend 2021.
SU also hosts Virginia Wesleyan, Washington & Lee, and Lynchburg in ODAC play. Road league contests include Eastern Mennonite, Roanoke, Bridgewater, and Ferrum.
In non-league play, the Hornets travel to Washington & Jefferson, St. Mary's of Maryland, Mary Washington, Stevenson, and McDaniel.
"We are so excited to be back to a full schedule this fall," Smeltzer-Kraft said. "We had a very successful spring season and that is only going to help us as we continue to work over the summer to prepare for our traditional season."
