Shenandoah Farms ranked 135th in state for resident earnings in 2017

Shenandoah Farms ranked 135th among cities in Virginia by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Shenandoah Farms residents was an inflation-adjusted $38,625 per year. Shenandoah Farms had 1,228 households in 2017, with a population of 3,598.

The city with the highest median resident income in the state was McLean. McLean's median income was $89,224 per year after adjusting for inflation – $50,599 more than Shenandoah Farms. It had 16,506 households in 2017 and a population of 47,305.

Emory had the lowest annual resident income among cities in Virginia, with a median income of only $4,856 per year. That was $33,769 less than the median income in Shenandoah Farms at the time. Emory had 229 households in 2017 and a population of 1,237.
