Ben Cline, a Congressman representing Virginia’s 6th district since 2019, has been actively engaging with the public through a series of tweets discussing state and national issues. Cline replaced Bob Goodlatte in the U.S. Congress and has consistently focused on law enforcement, educational funding, and national defense initiatives.
On March 27, 2025, Ben Cline announced a new partnership involving Virginia, the FBI, and the DOJ aimed at reducing violent crime across the state. He commented, “Virginia is taking decisive action to tackle violent crime through a new partnership with the FBI and DOJ. This is the kind of leadership our Commonwealth deserves—putting law and order first and keeping Virginians safe.”
Later on the same day, Cline criticized Ivy League universities for accepting substantial taxpayer funds despite having considerable endowments. He introduced legislative measures to restrict these funds, specifically to counteract policies he views as divisive. He stated, “Despite sitting on massive endowments, Ivy League schools took $6.4 billion in taxpayer funds last year. They’re using that money to promote divisive DEI programs and anti-American rhetoric. I introduced the No Subsidies for Wealthy Universities Act to ensure federal research.”
In an additional tweet, Cline expressed pride after speaking at an event hosted by the Aircraft Carrier Industrial Base Coalition, highlighting Virginia’s significant contribution to national defense. Reflecting on the importance of this sector, he shared, “It was an honor to speak at @ACIBC’s congressional breakfast. Aircraft carriers remain the backbone of our Navy, and with 295+ VA companies in the coalition, I’m proud to support the men and women who strengthen our national defense.”
