More students enrolled in Shenandoah County's only school district in 2023-24 school year

The only school district in Shenandoah County had rising enrollment in the 2023-24 school year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

There were 5,693 students in Shenandoah County Public Schools District, 1.1% more than the year before.

Enrollment in Shenandoah County bucked the state's trend of decreasing enrollment.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2023-24 school year, 52.1% of them were male, and 47.9% were female.

Data also showed that most of the studets were white, representing 73.4% of Shenandoah County Public Schools District's total enrollment.

Shenandoah County Public Schools District has a main office in Woodstock and is the only school district within Shenandoah County.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14 in the 2023-24 school year, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools.
