Enrollment in Clarke County Public Schools District increased over previous year

The only school district in Clarke County had rising enrollment in the 2023-24 school year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

There were 1,924 students in Clarke County Public Schools District, 1.6% more than the year before.

Enrollment in Clarke County bucked the state's trend of decreasing enrollment.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2023-24 school year, 50.4% of them were female, and 49.6% were male.

Data also showed that most of the studets were white, representing 73.4% of Clarke County Public Schools District's total enrollment.

Clarke County Public Schools District has a main office in Berryville and is the only school district within Clarke County.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14 in the 2023-24 school year, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools.
