3.7% of Frederick County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Frederick County recorded an unemployment rate of 3.7% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 1,700 people out of the 90,287 living in Frederick County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Frederick County has increased compared to the 3.3% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Frederick County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 4.5%.

Of the 44,252 people who had a job during that time, 326 were employed in the Armed Forces and 43,926 belonged to the civilian labor force.
