Luray-Page County Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
BROADBAND/HIGH SPEED INTERNET IN PAGE COUNTY
Description: Learn the players, what they’ve already accomplished, what’s currently underway, and what’s planned for the future. Panelists will include representatives of:
Page County Board of Supervisors: what the Board has already achieved, its partners and resources, and plans for the future.
Shenandoah Valley Electric Co-op, Ms. Morgan Messer, Director of External Affairs & Communication: SVEC’s plans and how they relate to connecting households to the network.
Commonwealth Connect, the expert internet team in Gov. Northam’s Office which provides free, technical consulting and funding for rural broadband. Deputy Broadband Advisor Kyle Rosner will explain the funding CC already provided to Page County and how CC can help guide future developments here.
High-Speed Link, the major contractor the Board of Supervisors hired to upgrade the County’s internet network. CEO Alex Phillips will explain what HSL is building when it expects to finish, how many Page households the network will cover, and the speeds it will provide. Samuel “Skip” Halpern will moderate the panel, to help answer key questions about broadband in Page County.
