70 percent of applicants to Shenandoah University were admitted for fall 2018

At Shenandoah University, 87 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 60 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Winchester enrolled 3,817 students in fall 2018, including 2,034 in undergraduate and 1,783 in graduate programs, data shows. 6.1 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

54 percent of undergraduates are residents of Virginia, and 45 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (60 percent) and Black or African American (10 percent).

The school admitted 70 percent of the 2,225 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 28 percent enrolled.
