Congressman Ben Cline, representing Virginia’s 6th district, recently shared his views on several key issues through a series of tweets. Cline, who has been serving in Congress since 2019 and previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates, used the platform to discuss legislative priorities and national security concerns.

On May 20, 2025, Congressman Cline expressed his enthusiasm for President Biden’s address at the House GOP conference. He stated: “It was great to hear from @POTUS at today’s @HouseGOP conference about the importance of passing the One Big Beautiful Bill for America.”

Later that day, he addressed immigration policy and border security by supporting comments made by Secretary Rubio. At 17:40 UTC, he tweeted: “.@SecRubio is exactly right. No sovereign nation can survive without borders. The idea we must accept anyone who shows up is absurd—and dangerous. Strong vetting isn’t optional. It’s essential to protect our security and uphold the rule of law.”

Continuing his commentary on national security issues, Cline commended the Secretary of Defense for pursuing accountability regarding the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan under President Biden’s administration. At 19:17 UTC, he posted: “I applaud @SecDef for pursuing accountability for Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. Joe Biden’s failed exit led to the death of 13 U.S. service members, reversed two decades of progress, and gifted the Taliban taxpayer-funded weapons.”

Ben Cline is currently serving in Congress after succeeding Bob Goodlatte in 2019. He resides in Fincastle and holds degrees from Bates College and the University of Richmond.
