Congressman Ben Cline, representing Virginia’s 6th district since 2019, shared his views on recent political and national security matters through a series of tweets. Cline, who has been in Congress after succeeding Bob Goodlatte, expressed strong opinions on issues ranging from censure votes to economic statistics and national security breaches.
On March 7, 2025, Congressman Cline posted about his vote to censure Representative Al Green for interrupting President Donald Trump’s joint address to Congress. He stated: “Today, I voted to censure Rep. Al Green for his disgraceful interruption of President @realDonaldTrump’s joint address to Congress. Thank you to @SpeakerJohnson for making it clear that this type of disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated in the People’s House.”
Later that day, he commented on employment changes under different presidential administrations. In his tweet, he claimed: “Under President Trump’s leadership, America GAINED 10,000 manufacturing jobs in his first full month. Under Biden’s disastrous policies, we LOST 111,000 manufacturing jobs in his final year — an average of 9,000 jobs vanishing every month.” He emphasized a resurgence in manufacturing jobs under the current administration.
In another post on the same day, Congressman Cline addressed concerns over national security following charges against U.S. Army soldiers accused of selling military secrets to China. He remarked: “Absolutely disgraceful. Three active-duty U.S. Army soldiers have been charged with selling sensitive military secrets to China — betraying their oath… This is why we must hold the Chinese Communist Party accountable and crack down.”
