Congressman Ben Cline, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Virginia’s 6th district, which he has done since succeeding Bob Goodlatte in 2019, expressed his thoughts on several topics through a series of tweets. Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and a resident of Fincastle, Cline shared messages about the National Day of Prayer, the potential expiration of tax cuts, and his meeting with industry representatives.
On May 1, 2025, Congressman Cline remarked on the National Day of Prayer, stating, “On this National Day of Prayer, we take time to reflect, give thanks, and seek God’s guidance. I’m proud to join.”
In another post later that day on May 1, 2025, Cline addressed economic concerns regarding the potential expiration of the Trump-era tax legislation. He warned that Virginians might face significant economic losses: “Virginians can’t afford to let the Trump tax cuts expire. If they do, here’s what the Sixth District stands to lose: 14,000 jobs $1.2B in wages $2.3B in economic output. That’s why @HouseGOP is fighting to extend the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act through reconciliation.” The original text can be found here.
In another meeting on May 1, 2025, with representatives from the Independent Insurance Agents of Virginia, Congressman Cline acknowledged the group’s visit. He commented, “Thank you to the Virginia representatives from @IndAgent for stopping by my office today. We had a great conversation about supporting the insurance industry and the small businesses that depend on it through pro-growth policies and commonsense tax reform. I appreciate their.”
Ben Cline graduated from Bates College in 1994 and earned his JD from the University of Richmond in 2007. Cline previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018 before his congressional role.
