Congressman Ben Cline, representing Virginia’s 6th district since 2019, recently shared a series of tweets highlighting his legislative activities and recognition in public policy. Cline succeeded Bob Goodlatte in Congress and has a background that includes serving in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018.
On June 4, 2025, Congressman Cline announced via Twitter that “The House just passed President Trump’s One Big, Beautiful Bill—restoring common sense, protecting taxpayers, and securing our border.” He urged the Senate to pass the bill without delay and directed readers to an op-ed for further details.
Later on the same day, Cline expressed gratitude for receiving an award by tweeting: “I was honored to receive @NAMIC’s Benjamin Franklin Public Policy Award today, presented by David B. Johnson of Augusta Mutual…” This recognition was given for his work supporting the insurance industry through commonsense reforms.
On June 5, 2025, Congressman Cline voiced support for work requirements related to social welfare programs. He tweeted: “.@SecretaryTurner is right. Able-bodied adults on Medicaid, SNAP, and housing vouchers should work, train or volunteer.” He emphasized that these requirements are not cuts but measures aimed at fostering independence rather than dependency.
Ben Cline was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently resides in Fincastle. His educational background includes a BA from Bates College and a JD from the University of Richmond.
