Congressman Ben Cline, representing Virginia’s 6th district since 2019, has shared a series of tweets addressing recent events and legislative actions. The congressman, who succeeded Bob Goodlatte and previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018, continues to be an active voice on social media.

On May 19, 2025, Congressman Cline expressed his concern regarding President Biden’s health condition. “Elizabeth and I were saddened to learn of President Biden’s cancer diagnosis. We are praying for his strength and a full recovery, and we’re keeping the Biden family in our thoughts during this difficult time.”

Later that day, he addressed the ongoing issue of fentanyl trafficking across the southern border of the United States. “Fentanyl is the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18 to 45. It’s flowing across our southern border, and communities are paying the price.” He noted efforts by law enforcement agencies under the leadership of @FBIDirectorKash and @FBIDDBongino to combat this crisis.

In another tweet on May 19, Congressman Cline commented on recent legislative progress with former President Trump’s signing of a new act. “President Trump just signed the bipartisan TAKE IT DOWN Act into law—a major step toward removing non-consensual AI-generated deepfakes on social media.” He acknowledged @FLOTUS’s role in facilitating this legislation aimed at protecting Americans from harmful content.

Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972, Ben Cline now resides in Fincastle. He holds a BA from Bates College and a JD from the University of Richmond.
